Wedding Day Timeline |Lexington KY Wedding Photographer

Wedding day’s can be very stressful and nerve wrecking. The best thing a bride could do for her wedding day is follow a wedding timeline. This will keep everyone on track including the photographer if there is a limited amount of time for photography coverage.  While starting and ending your wedding on time is critical.  It is important to outline the flow of the day so you know exactly where everyone should be and when. If you’re sharing a first look, I will need to start shooting bridal details at least 2.5 hours before the ceremony. 3 hours is recommended if there is no extensive travel to the ceremony venue. If you are one of my brides I would love to help you create a timeline that will allow for plenty of beautiful portraits and a stress-free day!

Sample Timeline for a 8 hour wedding

? – 2pm Getting ready

( I arrive to the wedding 1 hour before the bride puts on her dress to shoot the details like the dress, jewelry, shoes, flowers, rings and anything else.)

2pm Photographer arrives

3pm  Put dress on (Will take some bridal portraits at this time)

3:30pm leave for first look location (This is if you’re getting ready close by)

4 pm – First Look (We might have to start sooner or later but it all depends where the photo locations will be)

315 pm- 5 pm Couple portraits, Bridal Party portraits and travel time included

4:15 pm– Detail shots with the bride and groom (Be at the venue)

5:00pm Time to relax before the ceremony! (Be hiding from guests)

(There are a few reasons why I have this in the timeline 1. It allows you and your soon to be hubby sometime to just hang out together before hand with your friends bridal party. 2. Guests normally start arriving to the venue at this time. 3. This is the time I will take photos of all your little details in your ceremony area or  Reception if it’s at the same location. I like to grab detail shots when there are no people to make your photos look as great as possible)

5:30 – 6:00 pm ceremony (usually these last 30 minutes I would talk to whoever is officiating your ceremony to get a better idea)

630 – 7 Family Photos ( Normally it takes me 30 minutes to do family photos I find after the ceremony is the best for that because everyone is already there and you won’t be waiting for someone to arrive)

7pm reception starts

7:05pm Wedding party is introduced

7:15 Food is served

7:45 Cake is cut

8:15 First Dance,Mother -Son, Father- Daughter

8:30 Open dance floor

9:00 Flower, garter toss

Cynthiana KY Photographer | Lizer Family

I  adore this sweet family! I did Hailey & Bailey’s 3 year pictures and then got to see them again for a Christmas session. That’s when I finally got to meet the new addition to the family, baby Aubrey.  These girls are all beautiful.   I was absolutely thrilled when Nikki contacted me to capture their amazing family! These kids are incredibly sweet, I loved watching them interact together! You can definitely tell there is so much love in this family. We had a gorgeous day with beautiful lighting for their family shoot and I was so excited with all of the different poses we captured. Seriously, how can one family be so beautiful, inside and out?

Lexington KY Newborn Photographer | Newborn Sessions

Newborn baby photography capturing these special moments for parents in Central KY. They are my favorite sessions to photograph. The opportunity that so many families have given me to document new life keeps me inspired. I never stop looking for unique props, different wraps, new hats… I like to keep all my newborn sessions fresh and innovative. Documenting newborns has become an obsession in my life. I am crazy about the details, I am crazy about the bond… Probably because I wasn’t a photographer when my girls were born, and I missed the tiny toes, the fuzzy shoulders, the long lashes… Missed capturing those, and so I make sure I capture them for you.  It goes by fast, and before you know it, I am sitting on your couch with your print order from your newborn session, and you are crying about how much your baby has changed…and it has only been 6 weeks.

When should I book the session?

I book by newborn sessions around 16 weeks. My newborn sessions book up fast, please contact me soon as possible.

How do I book a session?

Because of their unpredictability, I simply write down your due date in my calendar, and reserve you a spot a week after your due date. Most moms simply go ahead and send me a text message or email while they are still in the hospital, so that I know when the baby was born and can plan accordingly. For the mom’s with scheduled inductions and c-sections, a date can be booked ahead of time.

When do you photograph my newborn?

I prefer to capture newborns between 5 and 16 days old; when they are still easy to pose and most sleepy. Older than this, they tend to not “curl” as much and sleep less. This, and the fact that newborn acne and colic can usually flair by the 2-3 week mark, it is to my and your advantage to photograph them as soon as possible.

Can you come to my home?

I love getting personal, making use of your bedroom, your home… So, I do travel for lifestyle newborn sessions.  There is an added fee for an on-location newborn session.

How long does a session last?

The average session is 2 hours… Some are shorter, some are longer, it is really up to the baby.

What do I need for the session?

Just the baby and anyone or anything else special you want in the photo. I understand what it is like to be home with a newborn. Your job is to focus on your new baby. My job is to capture that new relationship.

If you plan on being in any of the photos I recommend a white, cream, black, or neutral color for the photos.

Please click the home button to return to my website and contact me to schedule your newborn session.

Cynthiana/Lexington KY Newborn & Child Photographer |River’s Newborn Session

I had to wait 10 weeks to meet this cute little guy. He was due on Christmas Eve, but made his entrance into this world in October. After 8 weeks in the hospital River finally got to go home. He had a rough start and he did amazing at his session. He wasn’t much on all the posed shots. I stuck with the basket shots mostly for him. He loved being snuggled in my baskets with the most softest fur. He was cozy as a bug. I could have just kept him all day and snuggled. Please enjoy this sweet boys images and show him some love!
Sincerely Michelle

The Studio

There’s been some exciting things happening this year. I finally caved and made the next major step… I now have my own studio. After 3 years of doing on location and working out of my home I thought it was time to separate the two. It has been great. I have over 700 sq feet of space. It has a setting area for the parents and a warm home feeling. I’m still adding special touches to it as I go. I’ve been so happy with this decision. Please stop by for a visit 116 E Pike St Cynthiana, KY 41031 . Your always welcome!

Arianna Newborn Session

I had a model call on my Michelle Morgan Photography Facebook page in June. Arianna’s mommy had yet to find or schedule her newborn session. She contacted me about letting Arianna model for me. I was thrilled to have her come to the studio and dress her up in pretty little headbands, wrap her in colorful wraps, and the snuggles. It helps with the my baby fever. Please fill free to hit the like button or leave her a sweet comment. Thanks

Margo newborn

I have been MIA (missing in action) with my blogging. I know I shouldn’t let months go by. We all get caught up in everyday life that sometimes the hours, days, and even months slip by. Little Miss Margo came to see me last month all the way from Richmond KY. She was an absolute doll. Her mom wanted to add dads fire fighter gear and her crown she wore in their wedding. She was so precious in her mommy’s crown. A tiny princess already.
